Dear Parents and Building Occupants,
The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (referred to as AHERA) requires that Western Dubuque Schools informs you of any past, present or planned activities that affect asbestos in our schools.
A. The following items have been completed in the past year: 1. No asbestos removal projects have occurred this year.
B. The following items are presently being planned: 1. This notification as required by AHERA. 2. Make necessary O&M repairs as stated in the management plan.
C. The following is planned within the next year: 1. No future removal of asbestos is planned within the next twelve months. 2. Bi-annual visual inspections as required by AHERA.
A copy of the asbestos management plan is available for your inspection in our administration office during regular office hours. Robert Hingtgen, Building & Grounds Director is our Asbestos Program Manager and all inquiries regarding the plan should be directed to him.
It is our intent to comply with federal, state, and local regulations in the area. We plan on taking whatever steps are necessary to insure that your children and our employees have a healthy, safe environment in which to learn and work.
Note: This notice should be posted in each building, and a copy should be sent to the appropriate PTO organizations.
If you have any questions in regard to our asbestos program at Western Dubuque Schools, please contact Robert Hingtgen at the Farley office, 563-744-3885.
